I’ve got two bugs for you this week.
First up is 4252079. This bug concerns the new iTunes 5.0 and playlist folders. The new folders are awesome - I’ve been wanting this feature forever. However, they display inconsistently depending on how you view them. In your local iTunes application, they are permanently located beneath Library/Podcasts / Music Store/iPod but before your Smart Playlists and playlists. Within the folders, they are sorted alphabetically. The user has no choice in this. Now, bring up another user’s shared playlists using iTunes via Bonjour, and the folders are integrated with all the other playlists alphabetically - different from how they appear in your local iTunes. And lastly, on iPods, folders are displayed at all.
Second up is 4252072 - concerning iCal. When an alarm goes off, iCal displays a small alert window and bounces the dock icon. If iCal is not the frontmost application and you simply close the alarm window without making iCal the frontmost application, the dock icon will continue to bounce. Bringing iCal to the front will stop the icon. Very annoying.
I wonder if putting iCal into devmode can stop that. In terminal, type:
defaults write com.apple.iCal devmode YESPress return, log out and back in to try it.
No guarantees.
Thanks Dave - I’ll give that a try.
