Besides the Anza Borrego wilderness, Tom and I also went to the Huntington Library in Pasadena / San Marino. Their botanical gardens are vast and unbelievable - an entire palm forest, a desert area, an Australia / New Zealand area, Japanese gardens, tropical gardens, subtropical… everything. I took some photos there and along with some from Anza Borrego made a collection that make good desktop photos. You can download them here or by clicking the image above. The images are full-size and I haven’t done any touch-ups, so you may want to fiddle with them a bit before using them.
Besides the botanical gardens, the library / museum area had quite a few interesting exhibits. We only had a few minutes to hurry through before we had to leave, but they had an interesting exhibit about writing in America - including a Guttenberg Bible. Pretty interesting stuff.
Nikau Palms rock!
