After reading one of Daniel Jalkut’s posts, I figured I should probably let people know what they should expect to read on this blog: primarily technical and Cocoa-related info, but also a little bit of everything.
First, let me say that I love his Red Sweater Blog - it’s at the top of my favorite subscriptions and I read every single post. I love Daniel’s in-depth information about topics that I wish I took the time to research. He presents a lot of awesome technical information - little things that I think most people (including me) just take for granted and skip over, but the solutions to which are great exercises across a range of technologies. And he presents them with sample code and clear, intelligent explanations. And in many ways, I totally agree that having focus on a single realm of issues is important.
Along that theme, my primary goals for this blog is to present a lot of technical information. I’ve got quite a few reasons for this - to improve my technical writing, to force myself to dig a little deeper into technical issues and explain them, to demonstrate some of my passions for Mac development. I was a consultant for long enough that my career started heading toward managing technical teams, instead of developing code - and I certainly wasn’t working on the platform I truly care about - so now that I can choose my own destiny, I’m trying to spend that time immersing myself in the Mac, my site, Cocoa, and whatever else catches my eye. This blog is primarily to discuss those things.
However, it’s also my personal blog, so I will occasionally post other things. And since the program I’ve been spending most of my time on is Mugshot, I’ll definitely be posting descriptions and links to my latest Flickr uploads - and hope that you’ll download Mugshot to check them out
