This is a very minor update that only fixes the hang-on-launch that people were seeing in the previous version. Sniper was hanging because it was finding a tag in the contacts list which it didn’t expect. That should be fixed now - so if Sniper wouldn’t launch for you, try this latest build.
I can’t personally reproduce this error, so this build has very limited testing - give it a try, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll spin another build.
This problem highlights a weakness in the Flickr backend that Sniper uses - and is one of the reasons that Sniper can be difficult to update for new features. I’ve brainstormed some ideas for a better “FlickrKit” - the next Sniper update probably won’t happen until I get that kit built.
Download Sniper here.
Blake,
I was having this problem when I tried out sniper before. This version works great for me! though finding a link to the download was a little tricky

Hi, I’ve looked everywhere but couldn’t find the system requirements for Sniper. Does it run on OSX10.3.9?
Sorry, no, Sniper is Tiger-only.
This one now works for me as well. Thanks for the update!
…still would be great to see the MIT licensed release of the source code though

urm.. can you make the gui a lil more aqualicious?
Very nice app. Just what I was looking for!!!
Hi there, worked a treat for me, and really really encouraged to hear reference to future developement. this app is an essential for any pro mac flickr user.
It looks like there is a zero kb error that is now popping up. I just downloaded the newest version available, and all downloaded photos are 0kb in size.
Interesting program, but after fooling with it for a while I can’t figger what it’s good for besides looking at thumbnails. It won’t let me edit any info of mine, has less info than Flickr itself, and when I click ‘Download’, it sometimes creates just a zero kb file on my computer. Also, why does this program need permission from Flickr to delete files? I saw no capabilities in the program to justify this. Maybe I’m missing something, but without any help files, it’s impossible to tell…
